OBITUARY
Christine M. Henderson, 69, of Dickson City, died on her birthday, Monday, June 29, 2026, at Geisinger CMC, Scranton, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert Henderson.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Esther Stanton Johnson. She was a graduate of Western Wayne High School, and she was a Domestic Goddess, i.e. homemaker. She had been a member of St. Paul’s Church, Scranton, but most recently she attended mass at St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.
Christine found endless joy as a homemaker, caretaker, and lover of life. She possessed a vibrant, passionate personality that will be forever treasured in the hearts she touched. Chris loved flowers, feeding her birds, music, happy dogs, playing cards, hosting all of her children’s and grandchildren’s friends, cooking and above all else her family.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Henderson, Dickson City, and Christopher Henderson and wife, Carrie, Olyphant; four grandsons, Christopher, and wife, Michaela, Lukas, Dylan, and Jonathon; two sisters, Jackie Scarfalato, and husband, Angelo, and Terry Henderson, and husband, Harry; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Sandy, Victor, Jo Ann, Karen, Greg and Laura.
Christine’s funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City with a mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City, celebrated by Msgr. Patrick Pratico, Pastor. Friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Valley View Memorial Park, Scott Twp. To leave an online condolence visit the funeral home website.
