District 2 was well-represented when the Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association announced its 2026 All-State team Friday afternoon.
Thirteen players from the Lackawanna League were named while another eight from the Wyoming Valley Conference were chosen.
A selection committee and a media cross-check came up with two teams in each of the six PIAA classifications. Each team has five pitchers, two catches, six infielders, five outfielders and two athletes.
Riverside, Mid Valley and Abington Heights led the way for the Lackawanna League with two players apiece. Nick Bohenek and Jose Sosa of Riverside are first-team outfielders in Class 3A. Joe Romanosky and Nick Mills from Mid Valley are second-team infielders in Class 4A. Abington Heights’ Nick Bradley is first-team athlete in Class 5A, while teammate Evan Gonzalez is a second-team outfielder.
Liam Onofry of Delaware Valley is first-team catcher in Class 6A. In Class 3A, Adam Sorensen from Montrose is first-team infielder, while Dunmore’s Mason Stets is second-team pitcher.
In Class 2A, there were three first-teamers from the Lackawanna League: pitcher Jordan Jagger of Mountain View. catcher Alden Felker from Elk Lake and Blue Ridge’s Brendan Marvin at athlete. Jeremy Slick from Forest City was second-team athlete in Class 1A.
Seniors Bohenek and Sosa were two of the driving forces behind Riverside winning the Lackawanna League Division II title and finishing runnerup in District 2 Class 3A. A junior, Romanosky batted .424 (36 for 85) with eight doubles, two triples, 24 runs and 15 RBIs.
