BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Live music, local food vendors and patriotic celebrations brought hundreds of people to SteelStacks on Saturday as families gathered to celebrate Independence Day and the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Rick Felciano, who celebrates the Fourth of July at ArtsQuest every year, said the event has become a tradition for him.
“We love music, sports, great nightlife, great people,” Felciano said.
Cory Stevens, executive director of the Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks, said the annual celebration carried added significance this year as the country commemorates its 250th anniversary and FIFA World Cup.
“The history of America is built in tradition, industry, and celebration. I think Bethlehem is a perfect microcosm of all those things,” Stevens said.
In addition to music, food and family activities, visitors had one final opportunity to view the Hometown Heroes 2026 banner, which debuted on Memorial Day and features more than 1,900 photographs of local military veterans.
Felciano said the celebration also reflects the pride many residents have in the Lehigh Valley.
“I’m going to celebrate the Lehigh Valley for the 250th. It’s given me everything,” he said.
The free celebration continues through midnight, culminating with a dazzling fireworks display presented by the City of Bethlehem at 9:20 p.m.
