Tides rained out at Scranton, prompting Sunday afternoon doubleheader – The Virginian-Pilot

The Norfolk Tides’ game at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre was rained out Saturday night. It was rescheduled as part of an International League series-closing doubleheader of two seven-inning games Sunday, starting at 12:35 p.m. at PNC Field in eastern Pennsylvania.

The RailRiders have won three of the set’s first four games.

HORSE RACING

Colonial Downs cancels Saturday card

Due to dangerously hot temperatures, Colonial Downs canceled Saturday’s races.

Live racing at the New Kent County track is scheduled to resume with 10:45 a.m. post times Sunday and Monday. Additionally, the track will add a day of racing July 13.

Saturday’s stakes for Virginia and/or Maryland-breds — the $125,000 Miss Disco and the $125,000 Star De Naskra — will be brought back July 11, joining the previously slated $125,000 Glenn Petty and $125,000 Punch Line.
