MASON CITY, Iowa — A stretch of Pennsylvania Avenue will close for construction starting Monday.
The street will be shut down between 2nd Street Southeast and 4th Street Northeast through August. Crews will work on street and utility improvements during that time.
The city says it plans to keep access to Pennsylvania Avenue open as much as possible. The intersection at East State Street and Pennsylvania Avenue will stay open most of the time.
All other east-west intersections along Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed. Drivers should plan alternate routes.
