WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – A forecast of gusty winds has caused the National Weather Service to issue a Wind Advisory for part of Northern and Western New York.
The NWS has issued an alert for Jefferson County, which will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday. Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Jefferson, Genesee, and Chautauqua Counties were also named in the advisory.
The forecast is calling for strong gusts along the shores of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. Winds will be 20 to 30 miles per hour, with some gusts as high as 50 mph.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects, including outdoor holiday decorations. Tree limbs could be blown down, and some power outages may occur.
