Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad trip planned with reenactors

SCRANTON — An Aug. 15 rail excursion will explore the region’s ties to the Sullivan Campaign of the Revolutionary War.

Organized by the Lackawanna Historical Society, the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad trip will travel from Pittston to Tunkhannock along Sullivan’s Trail with the Jersey Grays, a troupe of military reenactors, on board.

The train will depart Pittston at 10 a.m. and arrive at Riverside Park in Tunkhannock at 11 a.m. At the park, the public can join train passengers for additional historical programs by the Jersey Grays. Programs at the park are open to the public and will run from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

The train departs Tunkhannock at 1:30 p.m. and returns to Pittston at 2:30.
