WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) – The Chief Tusquahoma Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is hosting a community reading to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence, the city of West Monroe announced Monday.
The event will be held on Wednesday, July 8, at 6 p.m. at West Monroe City Hall.
The event will also have patriotic musical selections by Legacy Strings.
The event is free and open to the public, and organizers are encouraging people to attend and “reflect on the principles of liberty, independence, and civic responsibility” as America marks its 250th Anniversary.
