NAZARETH, Pa. – The Fourth of July may be over, but celebrations honoring America’s 250th anniversary are far from finished.

A local library in Northampton County is showcasing a remarkable work of patriotic art that’s been years in the making, and 69 News Reporter Sydney Kay has more on the special display.

The Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity is displaying a quilt that features every U.S. President. It will be on display through August.

America 250 quilter Gloria Lohn, who hand-stitched it, has been working on it for the last four years. It adds to memorabilia that the library already has on display and will throughout the year.

Lohn says she loves history, and quilting has great history to show.

“That’s my treasure,” she said.

Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity Executive Director Holly Bennett said the library is an important part of the community and tries to find different ways to celebrate America with the different demographics that the library serves.

The library will also be doing a historical reenactment program this summer, with a special visit by George and Martha Washington!

It’s all about bringing people together and showing pride, Bennett said.

Library Secretary Becky Bartlett said the quilt shows history and craftsmanship.
