READING, Pa. – A Reading man is facing charges after authorities say they seized multiple pounds of methamphetamine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and more than $10,000 in cash.
Kyle Lamar Lane, 33, is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, the Berks County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.
Investigators obtained judicial authorization Monday to search the second- and third-floor apartments at South 5th Street, as well as for the person of Lane and associated electronic devices, the DA’s office said.
The DA’s office said authorities seized multiple pounds of methamphetamine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and U.S. currency believed to be the proceeds from illegal sales.
While conducting surveillance Monday, investigators saw Lane leave the residence and walk into the 500 block of Bingaman Street, the DA’s office said.

Lane tried to run away when officers approached him and discarded a cell phone and one pound of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the news release.
The DA’s office said the estimated street value of the seized methamphetamine is approximately $54,000.
Lane was taken to the Berks County Sheriff’s Office Central Processing Center, where he was formally charged and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Priscilla Campos, according to the DA’s office.
Bail was set at $200,000.
