The Erie County Fair on Tuesday announced lower prices on admission, food and rides this year.
Officials say the cost for a family of four to attend the fair, which takes place Aug. 12-23 at the Hamburg Fairgrounds, will now average 12% less.
Advance sale admission is now $15 (down almost 12% from last year) and regular admission is $19 (down 16%). Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Parking also remains free.
“We understand families must make choices. Every dollar matters,” Fair CEO Jessica Underberg said in a statement. “We do not take that for granted when people choose to spend part of their summer with us.”
Fair officials say they have worked with food concessionaires to offer value-priced options.
“Food is the No. 1 reason guests attend the Fair,” Underberg added. “We also know that it is one of the biggest expenses for families. That is why we worked with concessionaires to offer different price points so guests can enjoy the Fair’s food tradition in a way that fits their budget.”
Guests can also bring their own food, non-alcoholic beverages and coolers onto the grounds.
Other new offers this year include $2 each for all Strates Shows Midway rides on Aug. 13, and unlimited rides from noon to 5 p.m. for $30 on Aug. 16 and Aug. 23.
“Families told us they wanted more flexibility and value when it comes to rides,” Underberg said. “Working with Strates Shows, we were able to create new promotions that help make the midway experience more affordable.”
