WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – What started as a visit to David’s Bridal in Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, turned into a full-on fitting for Stephanie Feeley.
Her friends, Melody Simmons and Brenda King, paid a visit to the 69 News Studios to share the whole story.
“(Stephanie) said, ‘Melody, I got some good news! Dean proposed to me!’ I said, ‘Awesome! What did you say?’ She said, ‘ I said yes of course!'” recalled Simmons.
The ladies became friends with Stephanie at Sights for Hope in Allentown, a non-profit that empowers people with blindness.
“Finding love when you’re disabled is not easy,” King said.
For Stephanie, affording a dress was the next challenge. So, Brenda and Melody called David’s Bridal, then convinced Stephanie to go on what she thought would be a little window shopping.
“There were a whole bunch of people waiting for her when she got there,” Simmons said.
Understandably, the bride was very emotional.
“We told her, ‘We want you to know we’re here for you. We’re going to make happen what needs to happen. No matter what,’” recalled King.
Stephanie had her proposal, now she needed her perfect dress. And she found it.
“I never imagined this day. I thought it would never happen,” Feeley said.
Now her dream is a reality.
“You don’t want to sit in a room and let those four walls close in on you. Get out there. Get moving,” King said.
On this day, a young woman who can’t see became a vision in white.
The wedding is set for next August.
