The American Red Cross is encouraging community members to roll up their sleeves and donate blood at an upcoming blood drive in Erie.
The blood drive will be held on July 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Red Cross Northwestern Pennsylvania Erie Chapter Conference Room, located at 4961 Pittsburgh Ave.
The event is part of a partnership between the American Red Cross and Looney Tunes, with donors receiving a special promotional t-shirt while supplies last.
Blood donations are critical to helping patients who rely on transfusions. Eligible donors with blood types O, B, or A are also encouraged to consider making a Power Red donation, which collects red blood cells the blood component most commonly transfused to patients.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or by visiting the American Red Cross website and entering “ErieRedCross” to find the drive.
Donors can also save time on the day of their appointment by completing the Red Cross RapidPass pre-donation questionnaire online before arriving.
The Red Cross encourages eligible donors to make an appointment and help maintain a stable blood supply for hospitals and patients in need.
