A six-week program at the Robinson Community Learning Center is working to prevent the “summer slide” — a term educators use to describe how students lose academic progress when they are not in school. The program offers children math, art, and reading in the morning, followed by sports activities — including swimming, basketball, and tennis — in the afternoon. The curriculum is tailored to each student’s needs.
