Coast Guard searching for boater missing on Lake Erie

First responders are looking for someone missing on Lake Erie.

On Thursday, July 9, around 11 a.m., the Lake City Fire Company posted on their Facebook that there is a missing boater on Lake Erie.

Here is the information about the boat that the fire company provided:

Launched from East Avenue on Wednesday evening with one man aboard

Last made contact sometime between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday

The Coast Guard said they’re deploying all assets in the search, which includes helicopters.

Crews from multiple agencies were staged throughout the afternoon at multiple locations, including Presque Isle and Shades Beach.

Fellow boaters are being asked to be on the lookout and to contact the Coast Guard if they see it.
