READING, Pa. – A man is dead after a shooting in Reading.
It happened early Friday morning inside a home on one of the city’s busiest streets.
Officers from the Reading Police Department were sent to the 500 block of Lancaster Avenue around 2 a.m. for a report of a shooting, city police said in a news release.
During the preliminary investigation, officers determined that a man broke into a home, and during the incident both men were injured, one of them fatally, police said.
City police said the incident is not believed to be a random act of violence.
RPD officers and crime scene technicians remained on the scene into the daylight hours. They spent the time processing and removing evidence and speaking with people in the area.
City police say no arrests have been made. Police continue to investigate.
