A California man who stabbed his brother early Friday morning is charged with attempted murder, according to a criminal complaint.
Christian Texiera, 28, of Sacramento, is also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal trespass and recklessly endangering others.
According to a criminal complaint, at about 4:12 a.m., Throop police and emergency medical personnel were called to 200 Keystone Industrial Park Road for the report of a 29-year-old man who had been stabbed by his brother inside an abandoned guard shack.
The caller told dispatchers he stabbed his brother because his brother had been aggressive toward him.
Officers spotted two men, later identified as Nathaniel Diamond and Texiera, coming from the building. They told officers a third brother was inside the shack.
Officers entered the building through a smashed window and found Landon Davis unresponsive with his legs slumped under him.
Officers removed Davis from the shack and responding medical personnel transported him to Geisinger Community Medical Center.
The Pennsylvania State Police crime scene unit responded to gather evidence and document the scene.
Attempting to help
Diamond told police he was at Davis’ residence in Scranton and decided to call Texiera, who had been struggling with mental health issues.
When Texiera said he was living in a shack, Diamond and Davis invited him to stay at Davis’ residence.
Once at the shack, Texiera made some concerning statements and Davis encouraged him to get help.
Texiera got very upset, grabbed Davis by the neck and began choking him. Davis fell to the ground.
Texiera then brandished a knife and stabbed Davis in the neck.
He then pointed the knife at Diamond and told him to use his hoodie to apply pressure to Davis’ neck.
Texiera was arraigned Friday morning before District Judge Joanne Corbet, who denied bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on July 20 before Corbett.
