A serious crash at the roadside stand of Mason Farms in Lake City left multiple people injured Saturday after a vehicle struck the popular farm market and its customers.
A speeding vehicle crashed into a farmer’s market stand Saturday night, sending three people to the hospital, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers said the crash happened around 6:00 p.m. when a vehicle crossed the double yellow line, struck a concrete slab, and then rolled into the farmer’s market stand.
The vehicle hit people who were inside the market at the time of the crash.
State police said the male driver, along with a woman and a 10-year-old boy who were struck inside the market, were all transported to UPMC Hamot for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.
Photos and video provided by a nearby witness show significant damage to the Mason Farms stand following the collision.
Pennsylvania State Police from the Girard barracks closed West Lake Road for several hours Saturday evening as troopers processed the scene and worked to reconstruct the crash. Officials have not yet released information about what caused the accident or the extent of the victims’ injuries.
In a statement posted to Facebook, Mason Farms said its “hearts are with our customers who were injured, their families, everyone who witnessed this heartbreaking event, and, of course, our employees, who are understandably shaken.”
The farm said its roadside stand will likely remain closed on Sunday and asked the community to keep everyone affected in their thoughts and prayers.
