DALTON, Pa. — Community members came out to the Dalton Fire Carnival Grounds in Lackawanna County Saturday evening.

The carnival along Bank Street in Dalton offered several food stands, rides, and vendors.

We spoke to the Dalton Fire Company President, Brent Tripp, who said his company’s beer stand was dedicated to its assistant fire chief, who passed away suddenly at age 40, “Doc was our Assistant Chief. Unfortunately, he passed away 2 years ago, so we dedicated our stand that he loved to work in his honor. Doc’s lookin down on us tonight, he helped us out with the weather. A little bit of rain, but it went away, so we’re doing really good tonight.”

Something different this year, the carnival had a flyover by a paraglider before the sun went down instead of fireworks.
