BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A man who was hit by a car in Bethlehem last week has died of his injuries.
Christopher A. Pryer, 31, of Bethlehem, was pronounced dead on Saturday at 4:08 p.m., Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said in a news release.
Buglio said the cause of death is complications of blunt force injuries from the crash, and the manner of death was ruled an accident.
In addition to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center, the Bethlehem Police Department Major Accident Reconstruction Team is conducting the ongoing investigation, Buglio said.
On Thursday at approximately 4:13 a.m., Bethlehem police officers responded to the 2400 block of Linden Street for the report of a crash involving a pedestrian, authorities said.
Authorities say that upon arrival, police found an unconscious man lying in the northbound lane of Linden Street with serious injuries.
Investigators are working to determine how the victim came to be in the roadway and are attempting to establish his movements during the moments leading up to the incident, officials said.
Police say that early investigation indicates that the victim may have been lying in the roadway when the involved vehicle encountered him.
Investigators observed no damage to the front bumper, grill, hood, or windshield of the involved vehicle, according to officials.
Damage was limited to the vehicle’s undercarriage, and the circumstances surrounding how the victim came to be in the roadway remain under investigation, officials said.
