The annual church picnic at Holy Rosary Church in Duryea brought the community together for fun, food, and music, while also raising funds for the parish.

DURYEA, Pa. — A community coming together to enjoy an annual church picnic.

The longtime summer tradition is held here on the grounds of Holy Rosary Church and School in Duryea.

The event includes homemade treats, live entertainment, and an indoor flea market.

Organizers say the jam-packed weekend is not only a good time, but a big help to the parish.

Father Michael Bryant, Pastor of Nativity of our Lord Parish says, “It has two main parts, it provides a lot of finances that helps us out, and it but it also brings together all kinds of people and all kinds of families as we build a community here.”

Bob Piccoletti of Taylor says, “This is our first time here, so we are looking forward to some potato pancakes and some good hot dogs and hamburgers.”

For the final night of the church picnic, The Sperrazza Band took the stage.
