OBITUARY

Stanley A. Miraglia, 70, of Peckville, died Thursday afternoon after a brief illness. His fiance is Tarnisha Garvin, Scranton.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Carl and Gloria Rosetti Miraglia. Stan was a graduate of Scranton Preparatory High School and was employed as a Warehouse Worker at Consolidated Freight and a Warehouse Supervisor at The Federal Bureau of Prisons at USP Otisville and Canaan, where he retired. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville, and the Teamsters Union.

Stanley was a kind and loving fiance, brother, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. He never missed his grandchildrens’ sports, awards and achievements. He was their biggest fan. He enjoyed working with his brother as a scorekeeper throughout his nephew and nieces minor/little league careers. He also was a scorekeeper at Forest City. An avid sports fan who loved the New York Yankees, Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles. The family would like to especially thank his doctors, nurses and staff for their kind and compassionate care at Allied Hospice.

He was a loving father, devoted grandfather, cherished family man, and loyal friend whose kindness and strength touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He lived his life with deep love, quiet generosity, and an unwavering devotion to his family. His absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled. Though we will miss him every day, the memories he gave us, and the love he shared will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his daughter, Tara Karmol and companion, Jermaine Harris, Dickson City; his grandchildren, Kylee and Karter; his siblings, Carla Tomasetti and life partner John Pony Havirlak, and Joseph Miraglia and wife Susan, Eynon; his nieces and nephews Lindsey Fuhr and husband Jason, Joseph Miraglia Jr., his godson Thomas Miraglia, Sara Miraglia, Leah Cruice and husband Brian; grand-nephew Jayse Fuhr.

The funeral will be on Thursday at 9:30am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Jessup. Viewing hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm at Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup.
