GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A man from Pennsylvania was indicted by a federal grand jury for attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.
Joshua Barber, 39, has been charged with exploiting a minor for purpose of producing visual depictions, attempted coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity, cyberstalking, multiple counts of threatening communications, and repeated harassing communication.
Barber originally appeared in federal court in Gainesville for his arraignment and his jury trial will take place on August 4 at 8:30 a.m.
He faces a minimum of 15 years in prison, and a maximum of life.
This case is a part of Project Safe Childhood. This is a nationwide initiative under the Department of Justice to fight against child sexual exploitation in abuse.
