BRADFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WETM) — A Pennsylvania parolee was sentenced to more time in state prison after officials said he committed a series of crimes over the span of three months shortly after being released from a Pennsylvania state prison.
Darrin James Stroud, 26, was sentenced to an overall minimum of 10 years and 3 months to a maximum of 22 years in state prison, followed by one year of probation for the crimes listed below, according to information from the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office:
Person not to possess, use, manufacture, sell, or transfer firearms (first-degree felony)
Two counts of person not to possess, use, manufacture, sell, or transfer firearms (second-degree felony)
Two counts of aggravated assault (second-degree felony)
Burglary (second-degree felony)
Driving under the influence of methamphetamine and fentanyl, second in ten years, tier III (first-degree misdemeanor)

Stroud’s charges stem from four cases filed between September and November of 2024, involving the above-listed crimes, the DA stated. The charges were filed by members of the Pennsylvania State Police.

Officials explained that Stroud was on state parole for previous offenses after being released from state prison when he committed the crimes. As a result, Stroud’s parole was revoked, and his prison time will likely be extended. He also faces additional charges in Luzerne County, the DA said.
