Athletes from across Pennsylvania gathered at the Hershey Country Club early Wednesday morning for the 11th annual Mid Penn Celebrity Golf Classic, an event that shines a spotlight on local organizations fighting breast cancer. The event brings athletes back year after year to contribute their names and golfing skills to a cause they deeply support. “Being able to take care of an individual with cancer and help save a life is always a part of our mission to support other people. Being here is a great atmosphere to be with a great group of guys for a great cause,” former Pittsburgh Steeler wide receiver Santonio Holmes said.”My mom’s side of the family experienced breast cancer and I just want to come and support. I want people to know they are not by themselves and people really do care,” Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham said. The Mid Penn Celebrity Golf Classic Shootout took place on Wednesday, while the main golf classic is scheduled to begin Thursday morning.
