In Pennsylvania there will be some relief as travelers go to fill their tanks. Gas prices in Western Pennsylvania are five cents lower this week at $3.309 per gallon according to the official AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
Nationwide motorists are paying less for gas than they had been a month ago. The average has fallen two cents over the previous week to $3.03 getting the number closer and closer to the 3-dollar mark.
Over the last month gas has stayed relatively stable as prices have remained lower due to a higher supply and lower demand. On average the price of a gallon of regular gas was $3.15 a month ago and $3.10 a year ago.
New data from the Energy Information Administration determined that the gasoline demand has increased from 8.45 million barrels per day last week to 8.92 million.
Domestically the gasoline supply has decreased from 216.7 million to 210.7 million. Production of gasoline had decreased last week with only 9.6 million barrels each day.
Following the close of the formal trading season, West Texas Intermediate rose 33 cents for a total of $60.48 a barrel. The reports have found that crude oil inventories decreased by 6.9 million barrels from the week before. The U.S. crude oil inventories have decreased by 6.9 million barrels. The EIA have found that the inventories were at a 6% below the five-year average for this time of year.
Electricity at public EV charging stations have gone by two cents this past week to average out at around 38 cents.
