(WBRE/WYOU) — We are on a weather alert both today and tomorrow due to the fact that the entirety of Pennsylvania is under an air quality alert issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
This alert will be in effect until midnight tonight. The key for today will be to avoid strenuous activity and remain indoors.
DEP declares Code Red Air Quality Alert for PA
This morning, hazy conditions dominate our atmosphere as plumes of Canadian Wildfire smoke continue to enter our region. These conditions will keep temperatures down, and they will also affect air quality.
You will notice both a hazy sun and smoky skies throughout the day today. It will also noticeably be less humid than it was yesterday. Don’t rule out the chance for a stray shower as well.
Highs will be in the low to mid 80s. Tonight, skies will continue to look hazy, and it will be partly cloudy. Lows will be in the mid 60s.
Tomorrow will be partly sunny, and the hazy and smoky conditions will persist. Also, there’s a chance for a stray shower. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.
Your weekend will introduce an unsettled weather pattern. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with rounds of showers and storms. Highs will be in the lower 80s. Sunday will also be mostly cloudy. There’s a chance for a stray shower or storm. Highs again in the lower 80s.
Your Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will all be partly sunny. Tuesday will be our next rainmaker as showers and storms affect our region. Highs for the beginning of next week will be in the lower 80s. Wednesday is looking to be the coolest.
