In a post around 3:20 p.m. on the city’s Facebook page, officials announced the declaration for the area of Sitgreaves Street between Ferry Street and Larry Holmes Drive.

There was a fire in an electrical vault under the street, according to the post, which warned people to avoid the area.

The Easton Fire Department was responding, according to the post.
