THROOP, Pa. — Practice is underway for the county team ahead of the ninety-second annual Scranton Lions Club Dream Game. And for these athletes, they cannot just jog into these early practices. There’s a six-game win streak to maintain over the city.

“We got to win. I don’t like city. Never liked them. We got to win this game,” said Esteves.

“We’re going to need to play hard. Cities got a lot of good players on that team, a lot of talented kids. So, we’re going to have to play hard, play fast, play physical,” said Jackson.

To back up that talk, this group knows it must nail the fundamentals.

“Defense is just get to the ball. I mean, get to the ball, hit the ball, you know, that’s all, that’s all it is on defense,” added Justin.

“No stupid penalties, but play hard, play aggressively, and, yeah, we got to win. Obviously, we want to get the win,” said Rasmus.

“We have to get the plays down, so we don’t embarrass ourselves when we go out there, but really it’s just a lot of having fun. It’s about the time we have. It’s not about if we win or lose as much as we want to win,” said McGarvey.
