A 460,000-square-foot warehouse will be constructed along Davis Street in Moosic, a representative from PNK P8 LLC said Thursday.
However, the specific timeline for the project remains unclear.
“We haven’t started yet, but we will,” said a man who identified himself as a PNK representative but declined to provide his name.
Moosic Zoning Board Solicitor Don Frederickson noted Thursday that no permits have been pulled for the site.
“Nobody is doing any work on the property, as of today,” Frederickson said.
PNK P8 LLC, a real estate holding and development entity linked to PNK Group, a large-scale international engineering and warehouse construction firm headquartered in New York City, purchased the property from GMA Moosic LLC, according to a deed recorded Wednesday in Lackawanna County. The consideration stated on the deed is listed as $9 million.
GMA Moosic LLC previously purchased the roughly 36.9 acres of land at the site of the former McKinney Products Co. from Davis 81 LLC and 81 Davis LLC for a total of $6.225 million in 2022.
The McKinney Products Co. plant was a 200,000-square-foot facility that manufactured commercial door hinges. It opened in 1964. Manufacturing operations at the plant ended in 2007 when the work shifted to China, eliminating about 180 local jobs, according to Times-Tribune archives. The plant was demolished in 2013.
Officials representing GMA Accessories Inc. of South Hackensack, New Jersey, appeared before the Moosic Zoning Hearing Board in early February 2022, seeking variances to accommodate a roughly 512,000-square-foot warehouse project at 820 Davis St.
The zoning board granted a height variance to build a warehouse up to 44 feet, 7 inches, and a setback variance to allow for fewer parking spaces and more warehouse space.
Frederickson noted those variances had expired but were renewed earlier this year.
