MONROE – An out-of-state man wanted for murder was arrested on Saturday near a local shopping plaza.
Amaury Rosado-Laboy, 43, of Reading, Pa., was taken into custody near Walmart after the license plate of the car he allegedly stole was picked up on license plate recognition cameras, according to the Woodbury Police Department.
Rosado-Laboy is accused of killing his older brother, Alex Rosado-Laboy, on July 10, and shooting an unnamed man who survived. After the shooting, which occurred in Pennsylvania, police allege Rosado-Laboy stole a car and fled to New York.
He is being held at the Orange County jail awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania, where he faces charges of first- and second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of an instrument of crime.
The Harriman and Monroe police departments and the State Police assisted the Woodbury Police Department.
