Marie A. Calpin, 87, passed away Sunday night at Marywood Heights, Scranton.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John (Jack) M. Calpin, who passed away in 2019.  Jack and Marie were married for 37 years, and loved their pet dogs over the years as cherished members of their family.

Marie, born on Sept. 21, 1939, in New Milford, CT, was the daughter of Edward and Helen Pecor.  She adored her grandfather, Arthur Tinkham, who lived with her family during her childhood.  Prior to moving to Scranton, she was an assembler at Schick Manufacturing in CT, for over 20 years.  She was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish, Scranton.

She is survived by her sister, Helen Fogg, of New Haven, CT; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family and friends would like to thank the staff at Marywood Heights for the compassionate care she received while residing there.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday November 8th at St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson Street, Scranton. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marie’s name to either Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp., PA 18411, or to St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, 500 Penn Ave., Scranton, PA 18503.
