BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With the smoke clearing over Bethlehem, Blast Furnace Blues: Stars Stripes and Steel was in full swing at SteelStacks.
“I love it. It’s great. It gets better every year,” says Francis Repash of Salisbury Township.
“Yesterday was definitely an indoor day and today is an outdoor day,” says Dave Hochella of Allentown.
Thursday’s concert had to be moved indoors due to the poor air quality.
“I was a little nervous,” says Tamie Swain, Coordinator at Summer Harvest Food Drive.
Swain is out at the festival collecting donations for local pantries. She says she’s happy the weather held out.
“Wednesday night we had all the rain, so we had to be inside, and I couldn’t figure out how they would do that with this event. So I’m really glad that it’s cleared up,” says Swain.
As concert goers enjoy the nice conditions Friday night, severe storms are looming Saturday.
Organizers say they’ll closely monitor the forecast and make adjustments to events as needed.
“We’re always closely watching the weather and trying to do what’s best for our guests and our bands,” says Cory Stevens, Executive Director of Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.
