An Upper Darby man was arrested on drug and firearms charges following an investigation that began in Marple Township.
Raheem Rodgers, 36, was arrested Thursday at a home in the 200 block of Long Lane in the township following an investigation by members of the Delaware County Narcotics Task Force.
According to an information release by Marple police:
Shortly after 6 a.m. members of the Marple Township Police Department along with members of the Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at that location.
Rodgers was the target of the investigation, and was taken into custody without incident.
As a result of the search, officers found and confiscated approximately 15 grams of cocaine, over $9,000, a Glock 27 firearm, bulk drug packaging and drug manufacturing paraphernalia, as well as multiple cellphones as well as a Chrysler 300.
A prior arrest prohibits Rodgers from legally possessing a firearm.
Rodgers was arraigned by District Judge Michael Culp, who set bail at 10% of $250,000.
Rodgers was unable to post bail and was taken to Delaware County Prison. There is a scheduled Aug. 6 preliminary hearing before Culp.
“This was a county drug task force effort, spearheaded by our officers,” Marple Police Chief Brandon Graeff said. “This suspect was arrested based on information gathered several months ago from an investigation that began in Marple.”
