CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The National Weather Service in Cleveland is warning people not to swim in Lake Erie from Saturday into Sunday morning.
The weather service said hazardous swimming conditions are expected along Lake Erie from 10 a.m. this morning through Sunday morning, with waves reaching 2 to 5 feet.
They expect all lakeshore counties – including Erie, Lorain, Cuyahoga, Lake, and Ashtabula – to be at high risk for these swimming conditions.
The weather service is discouraging swimmers from heading to the lake as rip currents will be possible.
They also advise swimmers to “stay dry when waves are high and avoid piers, breakwalls, and river outlets.”
