Showers and thunderstorms that could bring the threat of flash flooding are once again possible in the Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
Severe weather could come to the region that afternoon and evening and could also bring damaging winds and large hail, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey.
The Lehigh Valley and surrounding counties will be at a slight risk of severe weather Tuesday.
Showers and storms could develop that morning, but forecasters said there will be “multiple rounds” with showers and storms in the morning, followed by more widespread activity in the afternoon, and another round in the evening.
“Activity in the afternoon and evening looks to pose the greatest and most widespread risk for severe weather with the primary hazard being damaging wind gusts,” meteorologists wrote Monday in their daily forecast discussion.
The latest severe weather threat for the region comes just days after a tornado watch and flood watch were issued Saturday. The Lehigh Valley largely avoided any storms that day.
Showers could linger into Wednesday, but forecasters said the rain should clear up by the afternoon. Severe weather is not expected Wednesday.
The rest of the week should be clear, with highs in the 70s and 80s. Here is the extended forecast from the National Weather Service:
