Pennsylvania State Police in Erie are investigating a retail theft involving counterfeit currency at the Walmart in Summit Township. According to police, the incident occurred around 4:01 p.m. on July 1 at the store located at 1825 Downs Drive.
Investigators say an unidentified Black male with an athletic build purchased a laptop using eight counterfeit $100 bills. The suspect was described as wearing a white baseball cap, white T-shirt, black shorts, and black shoes. Police say he entered the store with another unidentified Black male and left the parking lot in an unknown white vehicle.
