(WHTM)– Mechanicsburg native and popular comedian Shane Gillis smashed two Guinness World Records at a Pennsylvania show last week.
The Philadelphia Eagles announced last Friday that Gillis broke both records at his sold-out show at Lincoln Financial Field on July 17. Gillis now holds the record for the largest audience for a comedian with 73,946 attendees.
Gillis also broke the record for the most tickets sold for a comedy show by a solo comedian, with 77,047 tickets sold, according to the Eagles.
“Tonight’s event was a powerful reminder that record-breaking achievements continue to capture people’s imagination around the world.” said GUINNESS WORLDS RECORDS adjudicator Andy Glass.
The performance at Lincoln Financial Field included Dave Chappelle, Jay Oakerson, Matt McMusker, and musical performances from Three 6 Mafia and Philadelphia native Meek Mill.
The Eagles said that Gillis has sold more than 1 million tickets throughout North America alone.
