Voters are deciding who will be the next mayor of Erie.

It’s Democrat Daria Devlin versus Republican Matthew Thomas.

Tyler Gallagher was live outside City Hall on State Street, which will soon be the new home for one of the two mayoral candidates.

This race sees two new candidates to the city of Erie politics, with Devlin and Thomas looking to lead the city and replace current mayor Joe Schember.

Devlin defeated Schember by only about 400 votes back in the May primaries, de-seating the mayor who has served for 8 years.

Devlin is the current director of social impact at the Hamot Health Foundation and has served on the Erie School Board.

Thomas is looking to become the first republican mayor of the City of Erie since the 1960s.

Regardless, the City of Erie will have a new face as mayor, whichever way city residents vote tonight.
