PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) — Gov. Josh Shapiro signed 23 bills into law Monday, including measures aimed at modernizing state processes and expanding professional licensing opportunities.

HB 858 – Eliminating Blight and Revitalizing Communities
HB 1102 – Providing Opportunities to Serve in National Guard through Targeted Incentives
HB 1286 – Human Trafficking Awareness Training (Former HB2455)
HB 1646 – Keeping the Board of Barber Examiners Operating Smoothly
HB 1830 – Flashing Blue Lights for Roadside Assistance Vehicles
HB 1851 – Expanding Midwifery Access and Authority for Healthier Communities
HB 1860 – Permitting Remote Work for Employees in the Vehicle Sales Financing Industry
HB 1862 – Making Necessary Updates to Pennsylvania’s Ignition Interlock Law

SB 1353 – An act amending the Board of Vehicles Act (P.L.306, No.84)
The legislation includes authorization for the state to join the Cosmetology Licensure Compact and the National Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact, which support businesses and workers alike.
“I’m proud of the work we’ve done together to cut red tape for working Pennsylvanians, address critical workforce shortages, expand support for survivors of sexual assault, and ensure our veterans can access the benefits they’ve earned through their service,” said Shapiro.

Among the 23 bills are measures to protect veterans by ensuring county directors of veterans affairs receive training in trauma-informed care, particularly related to military sexual trauma, and to help families receive military benefits after a service member’s death.
