Bridge inspections to cause lane, ramp restrictions on I-81 in Scranton

DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Motorists traveling through Scranton on Interstate 81 should expect delays Wednesday as PennDOT crews conduct bridge inspections.

Lane restrictions will be in place on Interstate 81 northbound between Exit 184 (River Street) and Exit 186 (Drinker Street) from 9 a.m. to noon.

In addition, the Exit 185 ramp to the President Biden Expressway will be restricted from noon to 3 p.m. while inspectors examine the bridge.

PennDOT said the restrictions are necessary to safely complete the inspections.
