BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A longtime producer of the Freddy Awards has died.
Jamie Balliet’s obituary says she passed away peacefully on July 15th.
She spent nearly three decades working for the State Theatre for the Arts in Easton.
Balliet won two Eastern Atlantic Emmy Awards for producing the Freddy Awards, which showcases regional high school musical productions and the exceptional student performers and crews.
The Palmerton High School graduate was also a strong advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, women’s equality, and Black Lives Matter.
She is survived by her wife, Meghan, and her daughters Lucy and Olivia.
Jamie Balliet was 55 years old.
