BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Voters went to the polls in Tuesday’s general election to choose among candidates for mayor, and Bensalem Township Council.

The mayoral race involves a Democratic challenger trying to unseat Bensalem’s mayor of 32 years.

Meanwhile, there will be a new council member on the five-member board with longtime Councilman Joseph Pilieri not seeking re-election.

There are also contested municipal races for auditor and treasurer.

Results in Tuesday’s general election by the Bucks County Board of Elections are unofficial until they are certified at a later date.
