Louise (Rossillo) M. Karoly
OBITUARY
Louise M. Karoly, 88, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, July 19, 2026; surrounded by family, after a recent diagnosis of cancer. She was the wife of the late Stephen J. Karoly, Sr., who died in 1987. Born in Sayre, PA, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Concettina Rossillo. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi R. C. Church, Allentown. After graduating from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in 1958 as a Registered Nurse, she worked for almost 40 years at the former Allentown Osteopathic Hospital and Fellowship Manor. She will be remembered for spending time talking and having dinners with her friends, playing bingo and Bunco for many years, but mostly she enjoyed cooking for her family.
Survivors: sons Mark and his wife Marian of Fogelsville, Stephen Jr. and his wife Kelly of Alexandra, VA; daughter Susan, wife of the late Kenneth Mertz of Whitehall; brother Anthony and his wife Cindy of Sayre; 5 grandchildren Katelyn Mertz, Stephen (Stephanie) Mertz, Matthew (Kenzie) Karoly, Olivia Karoly and Jack Karoly; great grandchildren Norah and Chelsie Mertz. She was predeceased by her sister Lena Kingsley.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 28 at St. Francis of Assisi R. C. Church, 1046 W. Cedar St., Allentown. Calling period will be held from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM Tuesday in the church with the St. Luke’s Nurse Honor Guard and Monday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown.
