OBITUARY
Doris J. Harper, 95, died peacefully on July 18, 2026, at EverTrue Luther Crest, Allentown. She was married to the late James A. Harper for 58 years. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Edna I. (Bogert) Bachman, Sr.
She is survived by her children: James R. Harper (Barbara), Gail Welty (James Rest), Thomas Harper (Caroline), and sister Phyllis Bachman. She had five grandchildren: James M., Lori, Peter, Zachary, and Mackenzie; and seven great-grandchildren.
Doris worked at Allison Manufacturing. She also provided childcare at The Church of the Nazarene Day Care. She was a member of the former Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ. Doris is best known for her Blue Ribbon winning baked goods and dishes at The Great Allentown Fair. More information about her life can be viewed at www.BKRFH.com.
Services: 10:30 AM Monday, July 27, 2026 at Bachman, Kulik, & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 1629 Hamilton Street, Allentown. Calling hours will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday and 9:30-10:30 AM Monday in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
