OBITUARY
Theodore T. Christy Jr., 97, of Roaring Brook Twp., died Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, the former Ruth James who died in 2007.
Born in Scranton he was the son of the late Theodore T. and Helen Slavinski. Educated in Scranton schools, prior to retirement he was the founder and owner of C&A Casket Co. Inc. for over 30 years.
He was a long-time member of Elmhurst Country Club and spent many Monday nights bowling in the YMS of R bowling league. He was also an accomplished guitarist.
Surviving are son, Theodore R. and wife, Ellen, Dalton; five grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Joan Williams; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter Christine Pitta, sisters Marie Scherer and Helen Apuzzo; and a brother, Henry Christy.
A private funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Church, 529 E. Locust St. Interment, parish cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton.
