United Way of Erie County and the Erie County District Attorney’s Office are partnering to support 20 National Night Out events taking place across Erie County on August 4.
For more than two decades, United Way has supported local National Night Out celebrations designed to bring neighbors together and strengthen relationships among residents, first responders, community organizations and local leaders. This year’s partnership with the District Attorney’s Office will help fund events in communities throughout the county.
National Night Out creates opportunities for neighbors, law enforcement and community leaders to come together in meaningful ways that build trust and encourage neighborhood pride.
National Night Out events are held nationwide each year and can include block parties, cookouts, youth activities, safety demonstrations and community resource fairs. While each celebration is unique, the common goal is to strengthen community connections and improve relationships between residents and the organizations that serve them.
Attendees can expect family-friendly activities, food, entertainment and opportunities to meet first responders, elected officials and representatives from local organizations. The events also provide information about programs and services available to children, families and neighborhoods throughout Erie County.
