A domestic dispute over barking dogs inside a Pennsylvania home ended with one sibling dead and another hospitalized, according to authorities.
The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office reported on Tuesday, July 21, that Bryan Adolph, 26, is facing multiple charges after allegedly stabbing his sister, Elyse Adolph, 28, to death and injuring another sibling, 24, during an attack Monday in East Hempfield Township.
When police arrived at the home, they found Elyse dead in a pool of blood.
According to the official release, investigators said Bryan grew angry when the family’s dogs wouldn’t stop barking, at one point harming one of the animals.
When Elyse confronted him over it, he grabbed small kitchen knives and stabbed her “around 20 times,” the release states.
During the attack, Bryan allegedly turned on his brother next, stabbing him multiple times as well. The brother survived, though police said he “had numerous visible puncture wounds to his arms and was bleeding heavily,” and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Afterward, Bryan reportedly went upstairs to shower off the blood. When he came back down and saw his brother armed with a gun, he fled the home. He was arrested a short time later that same day.
Bryan remains held at Lancaster County Prison, charged with criminal homicide, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possessing an instrument of crime.
Judge Brian Chudzik denied Bryan bail during a preliminary arraignment Tuesday morning, July 21, according to the official release. Additional charges may be filed at his preliminary hearing, scheduled for August 4.
