A battery from a hoverboard sparked a fire in the basement of a home in Philly’s Mayfair section overnight, officials said.
According to police, the incident happened at about 2:19 a.m., when fire crews were called to a home along the 3000 block of Magee Avenue in Mayfair due to a basement fire.
The fire was put under control by about 2:43 a.m., officials said.
Also, officials said, a hazmat team was called to the location because the fire was believed to have been started by a hoverboard battery.
However, the Red Cross said it has delivered emergency assistance to a family of four that was involved in this incident.
But, no one was hurt in this fire, officials said.
An investigation on this fire is still underway.
