An Old Forge man assaulted his girlfriend during a domestic dispute and then attacked a neighbor who tried to help her, according to a criminal complaint.
Kyle Bradley Vancosky, 35, faces charges of strangulation, assault and harassment after the Monday incident.
At about 3:40 p.m., Old Forge police were called to 1018 Spring St. for the report of an assault.
Responding officers spoke with neighbor Tanya Winkler, who said she heard yelling, looked out the window and saw Vancosky attacking Stacey Reviello, his girlfriend.
According to the complaint, Winkler told police Vancosky covered Reviello’s mouth and threw her to the ground several times.
Winkler, concerned for Reviello’s safety, went outside to intervene.
Winkler told officers the couple seemed to be arguing over the car keys.
When Winkler took the keys from the porch, Vancosky attacked her, wrapping his arm around her neck and leaving a red mark, police said.
During an interview with police Vancosky admitted he “put his hands on both of them,” officers said.
Reviello told police she had the keys and was going to get in the car, when a fight broke out between the couple.
She said Vancosky hit her, shoved her, threw her to the ground and put his hand over her nose and mouth, making it hard to breathe.
Vancosky remains at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 3 before District Judge Joanne Corbett.
